I approach rankings as a scientist. I read Google's patents for clues to how search really works, then test extensively before I trust any conclusion.

That discipline has brought exceptional results across thousands of niches and many languages — and it is why I came through the Panda and Penguin updates that ended most SEOs' careers.

My experience spans every area of SEO, with results to show for it at every stage. I understand long-term SEO: how to bring a site to the top, and how to keep it there.

When a site needs it, I recover it from Google updates. Far more often, I plan so that it is never hit at all, covering every base on a scientific level — the same approach that carried me through Panda and Penguin when most SEOs fell.
