I'm an AI and automation engineer, a DNS, cloud and hosting engineer, and a developer — with a deep working knowledge of security, and expertise in page speed and accessibility.

Everything on this page comes from building and running my own platforms, day in and day out. Where I'm an expert, I say so; where my experience is hands-on, I say that instead.

AI and automation

I'm an AI engineer and an automation expert. I build my own LLMs, understand how they work, and put models to work in automation and support. I was building automations and automated workflows long before Zapier and n8n existed.

I built the 24/7 AI support agent on pbn.ltd and zinndigital.com. It has real functions — it resolves things rather than simply talking — and it outperforms every mainstream hosting provider's support agent I have tested.

Automation that looks after our clients

The automation I build into our hosting exists to make our clients' lives easier. When something on a client's site breaks, our auto-healers repair it on their own — the site mends itself rather than waiting for someone to notice.

When a CDN reports a problem for a client, their site moves to another CDN automatically, and their visitors carry on as normal.

When a site is hit by a flood of traffic, flood prevention switches on automatically, exactly when it's needed. I'm an expert in DDoS attacks and DDoS prevention, and that knowledge is built into the platform.

Mail

I've built my own mail servers, and I'm a mail delivery expert — getting email into the inbox, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC configured properly.

I work across the stack and in many programming languages: our own platforms, WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, WHMCS, node packages, mobile apps for the Google and Apple stores, and progressive web apps.

Security

I'm not a security expert, but I have a deep working knowledge and understanding of cyber security, and hands-on knowledge of server web application firewalls and WordPress security.

Malware and DDoS are the exceptions: there I am an expert — in malware scanning, removal and prevention, including automated malware removal, and in DDoS attacks and their prevention.

Performance and accessibility

I'm a page speed expert, making sites fast for the people who use them and for Google's Core Web Vitals. I'm also an accessibility expert, building sites that everyone can use.
